ABOUT VirtualLive.tv
VirtualLive.tv is a weekly spotlight on live original music, focused on exposing up and coming local talent to a worldwide audience. This website was born very close to christmas 07 and is now into its 3rd season of weekly, on demand, original live music videos. We focus on bringing you the highlights of the shows we attend and give you the chance to sample some of the awesome live music available in Sydney and (as we grow) beyond from the comfort of your living room. And hey, if you want to watch a full set of live music, just go to a gig, ok?
Our main venue is Sydney's Agincourt hotel, where we film each weekend at Club Blink and Trash Saturdays, with plans to cover more venues from around the nation, showcasing Australia's diverse musical talent. Any venues interested in being involved in this project are encouraged to contact us through the comments and feedback page.
We have also just added a new channel of amazing blues, roots and folk music performances from the internaionally acclaimed Blue Mountains Music Festival, an iconic annual event. Excitingly, this new channel is also available to watch in High Definition! For those who are equipped with beefy internet pipelines be sure to enjoy these new clips in stunning fullscreen clarity, with the same big audio quality you all have come to expect from VirtualLive.tv. It's come a long way from our humble beginnings in late 2006 as the Club Blink video podcast - low res video mixed with a crunch box switcher, And we are heaps stoked to bring you a broader scope of Sydney's musical talent with multitracked audio and video quality that pushes the limits of internet connection speeds currently available. Andrew Gelao, website founder says:
| "There's nothing like actually seeing a band live. Even on my nights off I'll usually try to catch a live show, as long as it's a group doing their own thing. Covers' bands can take a runnng jump for all i care. But when you see a band pull out something new, in their own spectacular way, its a moment that truly sticks with you. So now I'm trying to build a community on line, that is also a community in real life. A place where people can come together to appreciate independent, original music, and hopefully experience a new sensation before the money machine burns its integrity to the ground." |
